BackgroundRicardo worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Diego working in both the Downtown Superior Court Division and East County Branch where he handled and litigated hundreds of felony cases including complicated cases involving money laundering, drug sales/trafficking, child abuse, kidnapping, and hospital crimes. Judges regard Ricardo as a fierce oral advocate and a strong trial attorney. Ricardo also worked as an Associate Administrator and Hospital Liaison for a local skilled nursing facility, leading this facility during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Ricardo has a strong knowledge and expertise in the operation and management of acute and post-acute care facilities. Ricardo is still involved at the facility and provides guidance in the management of the facility. Ricardo previously interned at Hegeler and Anderson, at which point he wrote a Motion for Summary Judgment in a wrongful death suit that was granted by the Superior Court of San Diego. Ricardo has also worked at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, the University of San Diego Immigration Clinic, and a local corporate law firm. Ricardo’s expertise in healthcare, toppled with his successful experience litigating complicated cases makes him a welcome addition as an associate at Hegeler and Anderson.
